What to Expect
on Your First Visit
Walk in through the main entrance. Head to the front counter to check in. No reservation needed — walk-ins are always welcome.
All shooters must sign our safety waiver. Save time by signing online at SmartWaiver before you arrive — just show your confirmation at the desk.
Rent a firearm from our 100+ fleet or use your own. Pick up ammo in our store if needed. Grab eye and ear protection at the counter.
Head to your assigned lane, set up your target, and start shooting. Range Safety Officers are always on the floor — just ask if you need help.
Unload your firearm, clear your lane, return rentals. Browse our retail store, ask about memberships, and book a training class for next time.

Tips for
First-Time Shooters
If you've never shot before, our staff can recommend an easy-to-handle rental firearm. No need to buy a gun just to try shooting. Ask about the Rental of the Day for a great deal.
Our NSSF First Shots class and Essential Handgun Part 1 are designed for complete beginners. An instructor walks you through grip, stance, aiming, and safety — the best way to start right.
Wear a crew-neck or high-collar shirt and closed-toe shoes. Hot brass casings eject when you fire — a V-neck or open-toe shoes can lead to an uncomfortable surprise from ejected brass.
Save 5–10 minutes at check-in by completing your SmartWaiver online before you arrive at saddleriverrange.com. You'll get right to the fun faster.

- ② Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire
- ③ Treat every firearm as if it is loaded
- ④ Eye and ear protection required at all times on the range

Not at all. Saddle River Range welcomes complete beginners. Our Range Safety Officers are on the floor to help, and we offer First Shots classes and private instruction specifically designed for people who have never fired a gun before.
No. Saddle River Range has over 100 firearms available for rental including handguns, rifles, and our Rental of the Day special. Our staff will help you choose the right firearm for your experience level. You can also bring your own.
Standard range lanes (Bowie and Travis) are $26.99 + tax per primary shooter. Additional shooters on the same lane are $13.50. Private shooting suites (Alamo and San Jacinto) are $129/hour for up to 6 shooters. Eye and ear protection rentals are available if you don't bring your own.
No reservation required — walk-ins are welcome. However, you can book a lane online through our RangeWorks system if you want to guarantee availability, especially on busy Fridays and Saturdays.
Shooters under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. All shooters regardless of age must sign a safety waiver (parents sign for minors).
Yes, all shooters must sign a safety waiver before using the range. You can save time by signing the SmartWaiver online before you arrive. The front desk will guide you through it if you haven't signed ahead of time.
For most handgun rentals and first-time shooting, standard 9mm FMJ (full metal jacket) is the most common and affordable option. Our retail store carries a wide selection of ammunition. If you're unsure what to buy for your rental, just ask our staff — they'll point you to the right round for that specific firearm.
Yes. You're welcome to bring your own firearm as long as it complies with our range rules. Firearms must be unloaded and cased when entering the facility. Steel core, armor-piercing, and tracer rounds are prohibited. Check our range rules page for the full list of approved and prohibited calibers.

Absolutely. Groups are welcome. For groups of 6 or more, consider booking one of our private shooting suites — the Alamo or San Jacinto — at $129/hour flat for up to 6 shooters. Perfect for birthdays, corporate outings, and bachelor/bachelorette parties.
