FFL Transfers

How FFL Transfers Work

Found your dream firearm online?

Here is exactly how to get it transferred through Saddle River Range — fast, legal, and fully compliant.

Purchase Your Firearm

Buy your firearm from any online retailer, auction site, or out-of-state dealer. Make sure the seller is willing to ship to an FFL dealer — almost all licensed sellers are.

1

Contact Us for Our FFL Info

Have the seller email us at ffl@saddleriverrange.com. We will provide them with our FFL license and shipping address so they can ship your firearm directly to us.

2

We Receive Your Firearm

Your firearm is shipped directly to Saddle River Range. We receive it, log it in, and contact you as soon as it arrives. You do not need to be present for the delivery.

3

Come In & Complete Your Paperwork

Visit us during business hours with a valid government-issued photo ID. You will complete an ATF Form 4473 and consent to a NICS background check. Most checks are approved instantly.

4

Take Home Your Firearm

Once your background check is approved, pay the transfer fee and your firearm is yours to take home. The whole in-store process typically takes 15–30 minutes.

Federal Law Made Simple

Why You Need an FFL Transfer

Federal law requires that firearms purchased from dealers in another state or from most online sellers must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer before the buyer can take possession. This process ensures all transfers are legal, compliant, and properly documented.

Saddle River Range is a fully licensed FFL dealer. We handle all the paperwork, background checks, and federal requirements so you can enjoy your new firearm with complete peace of mind.

We stay current on federal and Texas state regulations so you do not have to. If you have questions about whether a specific firearm or item can be transferred, call us before you purchase.

Non-NFA Items

  • Standard pistols, rifles, shotguns, and most semi-automatic firearms. $75 transfer fee, same-day pickup after background check approval.

NFA Items

  • Suppressors, short-barreled rifles (SBR), short-barreled shotguns (SBS), and machine guns. $100 transfer fee. ATF stamp still required but now FREE (fee eliminated January 2026). ATF Form 4 paperwork and approval still required.
