Everyday Carry Part 1
This course introduces the shooter to tactical shooting skills that may be needed in a “critical dynamic incident” when the use of deadly force is necessary. Shooters will learn how to defend themselves at different distances and positions, including sitting, walking, close quarters, and extreme close quarters. One-handed down and disabled shooting will also be discussed. All shooting is done down range. 3D “dummy” targets are used in this class instead of paper targets. This course will also teach the correct procedures required to effectively and safely draw and re-holster a handgun from a defensive mindset. Students will be certified to draw from the holster at Saddle River Range after the class.
Required Equipment
- A firm holster that fits your gun (covers the trigger guard) and allows the shooter to safely re-holster. (Soft collapsible holsters and “Serpa” holsters with button retention are prohibited.)
- Ear and Eye protection
- Up to 200 Rounds of Ammunition
- No Sig P320s allowed
Prerequisites
This is an advanced course. Shooters must have taken Essential Handgun, Private Instruction, or have prior training/experience that is equivalent.
